Our Mission Statement:  The Society of Biomolecular Imaging and Informatics (SBI2) is an international community of leaders, scientists, and students promoting technological advancement, discovery, and education to quantitatively interrogate biological models to provide high context information at the cellular level.

To our members and sponsors from the SBI2 Leadership team,

As we all continue to be diligent during this COVID-19 pandemic and “do the right thing”, we want to recognize our health care workers, first responders and all essential workers and their families. Their strength and ours make us a team with resiliency and purpose to help each other in making this future world safer.

As 2020 President of the Society of Biomolecular Imaging and Informatics it is my privilege to share with you that the SBI2 Board of Directors has decided to offer our 7th annual meeting as a virtual conference. The 2020 conference will be held in September, as in previous years.  We are also pleased to offer this virtual experience with free registration to attendees through LabRoots, a leading scientific social networking website.  Looking ahead to the 8th Annual Meeting in 2021, we are also announcing our return to the Martin Center in Boston, MA.

As previously communicated, we have explored many options for our 2020 Annual Conference.  We have thoughtfully deliberated on the logistics of the meeting as it is most evident this community prioritizes the interpersonal communications, the high quality scientific presentations, and the educational experiences that foster overall awareness of “up to date” techniques and the rapidly expanding strategies in imaging and informatics. This virtual meeting holds the most promise to again bring to you all the outstanding features you expect from SBI2. Stay tuned for the content of the 2020 Program from our Scientific Program Committee which will be announced shortly on the website (www.sbi2.org) and updated thereafter.  Registration information for the virtual conference will be available soon.

Additionally, we continue to need your support as members of the Society. The decision to open the meeting up without charge this year was made possible by your past support (through annual membership dues and registration fees) and the generous sponsorships provided by our family of commercial vendors.  As we look towards High Content 2021, we will once again need your support in order to bring you the high quality scientific program that you have come to expect, so we sincerely hope that you will visit the SBI2 virtual booth at the 2020 virtual meeting and renew your membership or join the society. Like museums- we are a non-profit organization and if you can support us please do, if you can’t, please consider volunteering your time.  We wish to make this another outstanding scientific conference and we can only accomplish this with your attendance, support, and participation in the society. Please tell your colleagues to join us for the conference too!

Sincerely,

Ann Hoffman

SBI2 President
