The Society of Biomolecular Imaging and Informatics (SBI²) is a nonprofit organization operated exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes under §501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. SBI²’s mission is to advance biological discovery through high-content imaging, image analysis, and scientific informatics, and to provide a collaborative forum for sharing knowledge, innovations, and best practices in quantitative imaging.
SBI² is committed to providing an environment that supports and advances its mission. Accordingly, individuals participating in SBI² activities—such as conferences, workshops, committees, publications, and online forums—are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful, professional, and ethical manner.
SBI² will not tolerate conduct it determines to be:
- – Illegal or unlawful
- – Inconsistent with SBI²’s Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, policies, procedures, or rules
- – Jeopardizing the organization’s tax-exempt status
- – Violating SBI²’s contractual, statutory, or common-law obligations
- – Infringing intellectual property rights of SBI² or any individual or entity
- – Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or harassing
- – Detrimental to SBI²’s activities, reputation, or mission
- – Contrary to the best interests of SBI² or disruptive to its educational and scientific purpose
Individuals who experience, witness, or become aware of conduct inconsistent with this Statement are encouraged to contact SBI² leadership (e.g., President, Secretary, or a designated Board member) or email info@sbi2.org. If any situation poses an immediate threat to personal safety, local emergency services should be contacted. SBI² reserves the right to address complaints in any manner it deems appropriate, which may include warnings, removal from events, or other corrective actions.
This Statement does not replace or supersede any additional requirements imposed by SBI²’s policies, rules, contracts, or applicable law. Rather, it communicates SBI²’s expectations for all individuals participating in its activities and events.
