Nasim Jamali


Past President


Nasim is a product leader with a background in engineering, cell biology, microscopy, and large-scale imaging data analysis. She has led AI- and data-driven products that turn complex, multi-modal biological data into actionable insights for research and discovery. Her experience spans scientific strategy, cross-functional collaboration, and building scalable solutions at the intersection of biology and technology.

She earned her PhD from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and completed postdoctoral training at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where she worked across experimental biology, data science, and machine learning.

Nasim is deeply committed to mentorship and community building. She has served on the steering committee for Women in Biohealth–WI, co-founded WiSolve, organized professional development initiatives for trainees, and in 2025 served as the President of the Society of Biomolecular Imaging and Informatics (SBI2). She currently serves as Past President.
